Mission: At High Frequency Canine our mission is to use balanced training techniques, dog behavioral science and the four quadrants of operant conditioning to teach you how to best communicate with your dog so that you can live lives possible together.
Meet the Trainers
Ben is an Island native who grew up in West Tisbury and attended Marthas Vineyard Regional High School. In 2013 Ben left home and joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as an infantry squad leader with 3rd Battalion 5th Marines until 2017. In January of 2020 Ben attended Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers and completed the Master Trainer course. Over the 24 week course Ben completed training and was certified in Pet Dogs, Behavior Modification, Service Dogs, Drug Detection, Police K9 and Search and Rescue. Ben then continued to Intern at Highland Canine for 3 months working with the working dog team. While at Highland Ben completed an additional optional program called Student Excellence where in addition to regular school work they completed tasks with non-canine animals, taught a dog to do a hand stand, built a de gility course, helped create a children’s book and taught dogs how to play dog sports such as Tri Ball. Ben also helped work with a litter of lab puppies and kept a few of them at his house during school to develop them before the working dog team trained them to be successful police K9’s. Ben Graduated as a Veteran Graduate and a Honor Graduate which requires a student graduate the course with an accumulated grade of over 93. Ben enjoyed school and has returned to the Island to use his knowledge and training to help enhance peoples lives with pet dogs, service dogs and through search and rescue.

Austin was born in Ireland and Immigrated to the United States in 1998. He has lived on Marthas Vineyard for over 20 years and is very well known in the community. As part of the community Austin has used his experience playing soccer to help teach kids how to improve their skills and has coached multiple soccer teams varying in ages on the Vineyard. Often referred to as Coach by his old players and their families Austin enjoys talking to former players and hearing from their parents about how well they are doing. Austin was also known as a Sheetrocker who helped build countless houses around the island for new residents and long time residents. In April 2021 Austin decided to hang up his tool belt and help the community in another way training dogs. He attended Highland Canine’s Southeast Campus where he completed the 6 week program. After completing the course Austin is now a Certified Professional Dog trainer specializing in Pet Dogs and Behavior Modification.
